On March 21st, the celebration of Nowruz took place in the Presidential Park in Almaty. The event was attended by the Akim (Mayor) of Bostandyk District, Alin Sandjar Mendybaevich, who gave a speech highlighting the significance of Nowruz in uniting people and symbolizing the arrival of spring, renewal, and hope.

During the event, METU students and faculty members presented various traditional games and cultural programs. City residents and guests had the opportunity to experience Kazakhstan`s rich heritage, taste national dishes, and immerse themselves in the true spirit of the celebration. Additionally, various performers and creative groups showcased their talents, creating a festive atmosphere. The event helped strengthen collaboration among students and faculty, promote the value of national culture, and encouraged young people to appreciate and understand our cultural traditions.

At the end of the celebration, participants engaged in traditional Nowruz rituals, making the event a meaningful and unique experience. This celebration continues to be an important part of METU`s student life.
