On
March 28, 2025, a master class on promising haploid technologies and plant
cloning methods was held at METU in the Department of "Biochemical
Engineering," led by N. K. Nokerbekova, PhD, Associate Professor.
Since
the discovery of haploidy, biotechnology has become an integral part of the
successful development of new varieties and hybrids of various plant species.
These technologies are especially actively applied in agriculture, which is
interested in increasing production volumes and improving the quality of the
products produced.
The
master class was attended not only by students but also by METU faculty members
and researchers from the Institute of Microbiology and Virology, the Institute
of Genetics and Physiology, and the Institute of Plant Biology and
Biotechnology.
