On December 25, 2025, the International Engineering and Technological University (METU) held a regular meeting of its Supervisory Board, convened in an updated composition formed in connection with the expansion and transformation of the University’s strategic objectives.

The updated composition of the Supervisory Board includes:

• Ruslan Bakytzhanovich Zhumagulov — Chief Director for Economics and Finance of JSC “Tau-Ken Samruk”, Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences;

• Gerhard Ammann — President of Bank Von Roll (Switzerland);

• Bakhytzhan Alisheruly Duisembekov — Chairman of the Management Board of the Zhazken Zhiembayev Kazakh Research Institute of Plant Protection and Quarantine, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Laureate of the Academician A. I. Baraev Prize in Agricultural Science;

• Alimzhan Seitzhanovich Kurtaev — Statesman and public figure, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician;

• Amankeldy Kurbanovich Sadanov — General Director of the Scientific and Production Center of Microbiology and Virology LLP, Honored Figure of Kazakhstan, two-time Laureate of the State Prize in Science and Technology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Academician;

• Maktagali Abdimazhitovich Bektemesov — General Director of the Institute of Information and Computational Technologies, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;

• Daulet Bolatovich Turlykhanov — Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VIII convocation, Member of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security, Silver Medalist of the XXIV Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, Bronze Medalist of the XXV Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, World and European Champion, two-time World Cup winner, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences;

• Oljas Temirbekovich Ordabayev — Director of the Public Foundation for Sustainable Development of Regional Economies;

• Erkin Nyshanbayevich Satenbayev — Head of the Science Department of the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center, Candidate of Technical Sciences;

• Aliya Erzhanovna Aktau — Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Data Group LLP;

• Alikhan Dauletuly Omar — 4th-year student of the International Engineering and Technological University.

By the unanimous decision of the members of the Supervisory Board, Professor Ruslan Bakytzhanovich Zhumagulov was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

During the meeting, the Rector of the University, Darkhan Berikovich Akpanbetov, presented a report on the results of METU’s activities, highlighting the University as a dynamically and intensively developing higher education institution that successfully combines high-quality education, active research activities, and modern infrastructure.

Special attention was paid to the University’s development prospects, including the implementation of a comprehensive project aimed at transforming METU’s educational model, focused on internationalization, the introduction of AI-oriented and personalized learning approaches, the formation of a digital learner profile, and the development of hybrid education formats. A comprehensive project for the development of a scientific, innovative, and AI-oriented ecosystem of the University was also presented, aimed at increasing research activity, developing intellectual property, and supporting startup initiatives.

As a result of the meeting, key issues related to the further development of the International Engineering and Technological University were discussed, and priority areas for its strategic development were identified.
