Open Dialogue at METU: Third Day of Student Meetings

On the third day of the open dialogue series at International Engineering and Technology University (METU), a meeting was held with students of the Department of Economics and Business. The event continued the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with students and ensure transparency in academic and organizational processes.

The meeting was organized by the Youth Policy Department in cooperation with the Registrar’s Office. During the discussion, students were provided with a detailed explanation of the principles behind the Platonus information system, its key functions, and its role in supporting the academic process. Particular attention was given to issues related to class attendance, academic and internal discipline, as well as the roles and responsibilities of group leaders in coordinating academic activities and maintaining effective communication between students and the administration.

The meeting took place in an open dialogue format, allowing students to freely raise questions, share concerns, and receive comprehensive answers. This interactive approach encouraged active participation and helped clarify important aspects of university life. In addition, students were introduced to university-wide initiatives such as “Law and Order”, “Adal Azamat” (Honest Citizen), and “Taza Kazakhstan” (Clean Kazakhstan), which are aimed at promoting legal awareness, academic integrity, and social responsibility among students.

The third day of open dialogue meetings once again demonstrated the importance of constructive interaction between students and the university administration. Such meetings enable timely responses to student needs, consideration of their suggestions, and the creation of a supportive educational environment. METU plans to continue the open dialogue series with students from other departments, further strengthening student engagement and cooperation within the university community.
