On January 27, 2026, the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering of the International Engineering and Technology University (METU) took an active part in the large-scale event “Ideas in Action: METU × KIT”, which brought together students, entrepreneurs, and innovation experts.

Representatives of the department presented the results of student project and research activities focused on the application of digital and intelligent technologies in engineering. Special attention was paid to the integration of Smart technologies into education and the development of engineering thinking among young people.

As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between METU and the International Association of Entrepreneurs KIT, opening new opportunities for cooperation in education, science, and entrepreneurship.

The program included a lecture by Dauren Bimov, the founder of KIT, titled “Synergy of Creators”, an exhibition of student projects, experience-sharing sessions, networking activities, and a tour of METU’s laboratories.

The participation of the Smart Technologies in Engineering Department became an important step in strengthening METU’s innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering a new generation of creative, tech-savvy engineers ready to shape the future.
