Strengthening International Academic Cooperation: Professor Shakizada Niyazbekova Visits METU

From February 2 to 7, an invited foreign professor, Shakizada Niyazbekova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor (Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation), Associate Professor of the Department of Banking and Monetary Regulation, Faculty of Finance, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, visited the International Engineering and Technological University.

During the week, the professor conducted an intensive educational and scientific program for students and faculty members of the university. As part of the visit, lectures, academic consultations, and professional meetings were organized to promote scientific dialogue and exchange of advanced experience.

The professor delivered lectures on the following relevant topics:

  • “Research of mathematical models and algorithms for face recognition in images using Python in proctoring systems”;
  • “Analysis of trends in the financial sector of the global fuel and energy complex”;
  • “Responsible consumption for a ‘green’ economy in Kazakhstan”;
  • “Exchange of experience between universities on modern teaching methods”.

Students showed particular interest in the application of digital technologies in the financial sector, modern data analysis methods, and issues of sustainable development. During consultations, students had the opportunity to discuss their research projects and receive expert recommendations.

The visit of the foreign professor became a significant event for the university, strengthened international academic ties, and contributed to the development of cooperation between universities. Students noted the lecturer’s high professionalism, the relevance of the presented topics, and the practical value of the knowledge gained.

Following the visit, with the support of the Department of Economics and Business, an agreement was reached to prepare a joint scientific article planned for publication in an international peer-reviewed journal indexed in the Scopus database.
