A lecture series by foreign professor Marcos Bamonte has started at METU

At the International Engineering and Technology University, a lecture series by visiting professor Marcos Bamonte from Austral University is taking place from February 16 to 27, 2026. The classes are organized for students of the Department of Software Engineering and have generated great interest among the students from the very first days.

Within the framework of the course, the professor covers modern and перспективе areas of science and technology, including biometrics, robotics, mechatronics, emotion recognition, and automatic control systems. The topics reflect current trends in the development of intelligent technologies and engineering solutions.

During the sessions, students work on developing prototypes of intelligent systems, including:
• emotion recognition solutions based on computer vision technologies;
• components of robotic platforms with automatic control elements;
• biometric systems for user identification.
