Meeting on the Prevention of Youth Offenses Held at METU

On February 26, 2026, the International Engineering and Technology University (METU) hosted a preventive meeting within the framework of the “Zań men tártíp” (“Law and Order”) project on the topic “Prevention of Offenses Among Youth.” The event was aimed at increasing students’ legal awareness and promoting responsible behavior in society.

The guest speaker was Senior Juvenile Affairs District Inspector of the Public Safety Department of the Bostandyk District Police Administration, Police Captain Dinara Koyshybaikyzy Magzumova. In her presentation, she подробно explained the main causes of offenses among adolescents and young people, their consequences, and the preventive measures implemented by law enforcement agencies. Special attention was given to the role of family, educational institutions, and society in raising a law-abiding generation.

During the meeting, participants were informed about the main types of offenses, legal liability for unlawful actions, and the importance of complying with the law in everyday life. The police representative also spoke about preventive raids, educational talks, legal lectures, and informational activities in social networks aimed at reducing youth delinquency.

The event was held in an open dialogue format, allowing students to actively ask questions, discuss real-life situations, and receive professional advice. This interactive approach made the meeting highly practical and useful for participants.

Organizers noted that such events contribute to the development of legal culture, civic responsibility, and a safe educational environment. The university plans to continue joint preventive activities with law enforcement agencies aimed at educating conscious and socially responsible youth.
