Tursynkhan Ainur Maksatkyzy held an open curatorial hour on the topic “Referendum as a Responsible Step Toward the Country’s Future”
In order to increase students’ civic engagement, develop legal awareness, and provide comprehensive information about important socio-political processes in the country, an open curatorial hour on the topic “Referendum as a Responsible Step Toward the Country’s Future” was held. The event was conducted by lecturer Tursynkhan Ainur Maksatkyzy. During the curatorial hour, students were given a detailed explanation of the importance of a referendum in public life and its impact on the political and social development of the country. The lecturer emphasized that a referendum is an important democratic mechanism through which people can express their opinion, and noted that each citizen, by participating in the vote, can contribute to the future of the state.
In addition, students were informed about the key amendments and additions introduced in the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was explained that the main purpose of the constitutional reforms is to expand citizens’ rights and freedoms, improve the system of public administration, and further develop democratic processes in the country. As part of the event, students were provided with information about their polling stations, and the procedures for participating in the referendum, the voting process, and the responsibility of each citizen were explained in detail. The importance of active participation in socio-political life and the need to openly express one’s civic position were also highlighted.
During the curatorial hour, students shared their opinions, asked questions, and exchanged views on the topic. The open class was aimed at improving students’ legal literacy, fostering a responsible attitude toward public issues, and encouraging a sense of responsibility for the future of the country.
