The Future of Robotics at METU: Software Engineering Students Awarded Certificates by Professor from Argentina
The International University of Engineering and Technology hosted a milestone event merging international education with high technology. As part of Kazakhstan’s first Digital Nauryz, a solemn ceremony was held to award certificates to Software Engineering students who successfully completed an intensive robotics course.

The training program was made possible through the active development of international cooperation. The course was led by a specially invited foreign expert — Professor Marcos Bamonte from Austral University (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
Professor Bamonte’s visit was organized based on an official international cooperation agreement between METU and Austral University. This partnership opens broad opportunities for students and faculty to exchange advanced expertise, engage in joint scientific research, and implement global educational standards into the curriculum.

Under the guidance of the Argentine professor, students delved into cutting-edge fields:
- Design and programming of complex robotic systems.
- Development of control algorithms based on Artificial Intelligence.
- Integration of software with hardware solutions.

Symbolically, the awarding of international certificates took place during Digital Nauryz — a unique digital format of the spring holiday pioneered by METU.
Receiving certificates from a world-class professor confirms the high qualification of the Software Engineering students. This event highlights the university`s strategy: while some students represent METU abroad through academic mobility programs (in Turkey, China, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan), others gain exclusive international experience right on campus through guest lecturers.

As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has noted, the development of the IT sector and the training of qualified personnel are the foundation of Kazakhstan`s future. The successful completion of Marcos Bamonte`s course under this inter-university partnership is a practical step by the Software Engineering Department toward realizing the country’s digitalization strategy and preparing world-class specialists.
