METU Strengthens International Partnership: Cooperation Agreement Signed with Selçuk University (Turkey)
The International Engineering and Technological University (METU) has taken a significant step in implementing its global academic presence strategy. As part of expanding its network of foreign partners, an official cooperation agreement was signed with Selçuk University (Selçuk Üniversitesi, Konya) — one of the largest and most prestigious state universities in the Republic of Turkey.
This partnership opens up broad perspectives for professional and personal growth for both students and faculty members of METU.
Key Areas of Cooperation
The signed document provides for long-term interaction in several key areas:
Academic Mobility: Undergraduate and graduate students of METU will be able to study for a semester or a full academic year at Selçuk University. Exchange programs will allow young people not only to access advanced knowledge but also to immerse themselves in the cultural environment of Turkey while improving their language skills.
Joint Scientific Research: The parties agreed to implement joint research projects, primarily in the fields of engineering, IT, biotechnology, and the food industry — areas that are priorities for both universities.
Internship and Professional Development Programs: Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to exchange experience, conduct joint workshops and scientific seminars, and integrate the best international practices into the educational process.
International Events: The organization of joint conferences and symposiums will serve as a platform for discussing current challenges in the world of technology and innovation.
METU leadership noted that cooperation with such a powerful educational center as Selçuk University significantly increases the competitiveness of our graduates. This confirms METU`s status as a modern university oriented toward international educational standards.
