On April 10, a
master class on "Pathogenic microorganisms and protection from
infections" was held at the Department of Biochemical Engineering.
The master class
was conducted by Lyazzat Zenurainovna Musralina, Associate Professor, PhD, Head
of the Laboratory of Archaeogenetics at the Institute of Genetics and
Physiology, Institute of Genetics and Physiology.
During the lesson,
the main groups of pathogenic microorganisms, the mechanisms of their spread,
virulence factors, as well as modern approaches to the prevention of infectious
diseases were considered in detail. A special emphasis was placed on the body`s
immune defense and the role of vaccination in reducing the risk of infections.
Practical
recommendations on compliance with biosafety rules, laboratory work and
prevention of cross-contamination were also presented. The master class was
accompanied by an interactive discussion of clinical and laboratory examples,
which allowed students to better understand the applied meaning of the topic.
The students
actively participated in the discussion, asked questions and analyzed real
situations related to the spread of infections in the home and professional
environment. The acquired knowledge is important for the formation of
professional competencies of future specialists.
