The 180th Anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev Celebrated at the International Engineering and Technology University

On April 14, 2026, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh poet, akyn, and thinker Zhambyl Zhabayev was held at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities and World Languages of the International Engineering and Technology University.

The event was attended by international guests and brought together faculty members, students, and invited participants. The opening address was delivered by Turkish scholar, Professor of Philology Hadi Bak, who is currently working at the Moscow City University. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of Zhambyl Zhabayev’s creative legacy and his contribution to the development of Turkic and world literature.

The program of the event was rich and diverse. Students presented poetic works, performed traditional kui on the dombra, and showcased vocal performances. Particular interest was drawn to the poetry segment, during which Zhambyl Zhabayev’s works were recited alongside modern interpretations of his творчество in different languages.

As part of the event, students presented interactive projects, including video clips created using artificial intelligence technologies, and an online quiz aimed at expanding knowledge about the poet’s life and work was conducted.

Participants also prepared presentations dedicated to the life path and creative heritage of Zhambyl Zhabayev. The program concluded with a screening of a thematic video and an interactive game that allowed guests to gain a deeper understanding of the great akyn’s cultural legacy.

The event was held in a warm and inspiring atmosphere, reaffirming the relevance of Zhambyl Zhabayev’s творчество, its significance for the younger generation, and its unifying role in the dialogue of cultures.
