May 21 is celebrated as the Day of Culture and Arts Workers. This special occasion honors the dedication and creativity of those who contribute significantly to the development of culture and the arts. At the same time, it highlights the important role of libraries in preserving humanity’s cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations. Culture can be seen on the theater stage, while art is reflected in the works of artists, musicians, and writers. Yet the source and enduring home of these values is the library. It serves as a repository of knowledge, history, literature, and the finest achievements of national and world culture. To mark the Day of Culture and Arts Workers, the METU Library organized a special book exhibition. The exhibition aimed to promote the works of prominent figures who have made invaluable contributions to the development of culture and the arts, while introducing readers to their lives and achievements. The exhibition featured books and publications on literature, music, theater, visual arts, and cultural studies. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage and learn more about the creative legacy of outstanding personalities.
The book exhibition not only emphasized the importance of culture and the arts in society but also reaffirmed the library’s role as a vital center for preserving and promoting spiritual and cultural values.
