Students of the "Software Engineering" department at the International Engineering and Technological University (METU), Arnur Ospanov and Raiymbek Askar, have successfully completed their semester in China under the academic mobility program. They not only demonstrated outstanding academic performance but also took part in a prestigious international robotics competition.
During the spring
semester, Arnur and Raiymbek studied at one of the leading technological
universities in China — Jiangsu University of Technology (JSUT). Within the
framework of the program, the young programmers fully immersed themselves in an
advanced scientific environment, studying artificial intelligence, automation,
and modern engineering disciplines. By the end of the semester, the METU
students achieved excellent academic results, earning high praise and
recognition from the Chinese faculty.
The main highlight
of their trip abroad was the synergy of science and practice. Uniting into
international teams with students from the Chinese partner university JSUT,
Arnur Ospanov and Raiymbek Askar applied for a major event — the 2026
International Embodied Intelligence Innovation Competition – Central Asia
Robotics Special Event. This championship focuses on "Embodied
Intelligence," one of the most promising areas of modern robotics.
Having gone
through a rigorous selection process and long weeks of joint development of
innovative IT solutions and robotic platforms, the cross-cultural teams
successfully prepared their technological projects.
Immediately after
the end of the academic semester in China, the METU students returned to their
homeland. Symbolically, they arrived in Astana together with the official JSUT
delegation, which flew to Kazakhstan to hold the final stages of the championship
at Nazarbayev University. Today, on June 11th, our sophomore students,
alongside their Chinese colleagues, are defending the results of their joint
work before an international jury.
The leadership of
METU and the "Software Engineering" department congratulate Arnur and
Raiymbek on the successful completion of the semester and their brilliant
performance at the world level. This experience proves that our future software
engineers are capable of competing on equal terms in the global scientific
space!
