September 5 is the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan and the birthday of the great Kazakh educator, scholar, poet, and public figure Akhmet Baitursynuly. To mark this occasion, the METU Scientific Library organized a book exhibition entitled “Ұлт ұстазы – Ахмет Байтұрсынұлы” (Akhmet Baitursynuly — Teacher of the Nation), dedicated to the life and creative legacy of Akhmet Baitursynuly. The exhibition featured the scholar’s works, academic research, and educational publications, which were presented to readers. A discussion-based educational dialogue was also held with first-year university students.The participants discussed the role of language in society, the status of the state language, and respect for different languages in multicultural Kazakhstan. The students freely shared their opinions and demonstrated their knowledge and active participation.

Language is a priceless heritage that carries the history and culture of a people, as well as its spiritual values, from one generation to another. Therefore, cherishing our native language and respecting other languages is the duty of every citizen.
