A book is not just a one-day interest. It is a companion that changes the way we think, broadens our horizons, and inspires us to grow and develop.

As part of the “Kіtap oqityn ulт” (“Reading Nation”) initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, the METU Scientific Library presents a special reading plan aimed at making reading a part of everyday life.

This is not a plan designed for just one week.
It is a reading journey that can continue throughout the year.

Each day of the week — a new genre, a new topic, a new opportunity:

Monday — Kazakh literature
Tuesday — World literature
Wednesday — Scientific books
Thursday — Personal development
Friday — Young adult literature
Saturday — Historical books
Sunday — “A Book I Recommend”

Our goal is not only to introduce students and staff to books from different genres, but also to encourage them to discover new books, explore new ideas, and find something that truly resonates with them.

Because sometimes one book leads to one idea,
one idea leads to one decision,
and one decision can lead to a whole new change.
