On October 8, the International Engineering and Technology University
(METU) hosted another CareerTalks meeting focused on professional development,
practical training, and employment opportunities for students.
The guests of the meeting were METU graduates of the “Radio Engineering,
Electronics and Telecommunications” educational program who are currently
working at Inter Service:
The meeting focused on the alumni’s real career journeys — from their
university education and practical training to their first professional
experience and further career development.
The speakers shared their personal experiences, including why they chose
their educational program, how they developed their first practical skills, how
they started working while still studying, and how they progressed to their
current positions at Inter Service.
Particular attention was given to combining education with work,
practical training, and professional development opportunities for young
specialists. The speakers discussed the knowledge and skills currently in
demand in the telecommunications sector, employers’ expectations of young
professionals, and the qualities that contribute to successful career
development.
During the interactive part of the meeting, students discussed real-life
situations and exchanged views with the speakers on topics such as getting
their first job, continuing employment after practical training, and further
professional development.
The participants also learned about
opportunities for practical training, employment, and career growth at Inter
Service, as well as current vacancies and career opportunities available to
METU students and graduates.
At the end of the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask the
speakers questions and receive practical advice based on their personal
professional experience.
