On October 6, 2026, MITU hosted a conference with representatives of Huawei dedicated to the international Huawei ICT Competition 2026–2027. The event was attended by second-year students enrolled in the Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications educational programme at the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering.
During the conference, students learned about Huawei’s activities, the Huawei ICT Academy educational initiative and the main tracks of the international competition. The competition covers four areas: Network, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computing.
MITU also operates a Huawei ICT Academy, where classes are delivered by certified instructors Tolegenova A.A. and Ashirbekov B.A. from the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering.
In Kazakhstan, the Huawei ICT Competition 2026–2027 Roadshow runs from September 8 to October 14, covering 48 universities across the country. At the global final of the previous season, Kazakhstani students secured second place in the Network Track and third place in AI Innovation.
The conference aimed to encourage students’ interest in emerging technologies, strengthen practical skills and introduce opportunities to participate in international technology competitions.
