On March 11, 2026, a meeting was held at the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering to discuss the educational programme “6B07105 – Information Technologies in Electric Power Engineering”.

During the meeting, the Head of the Department, Murat Kyrgyzbaevich Baktybaev, presented the educational programme, introduced the academic staff and outlined the curriculum.

Particular attention was paid to developing students’ professional competencies, increasing the proportion of practical classes and strengthening cooperation with specialized enterprises.

Faculty members and the employer representative proposed organizing practical seminars and laboratory sessions to better prepare students for real-world industrial environments. They also proposed including the course “Calculation and Design of Power Supply Systems” in the curriculum to deepen students’ knowledge of electrical load calculations for power plants and substations, while recommending “Intellectualization of Electric Power Systems” as an elective course.

Following the meeting, recommendations were made to improve the curriculum, strengthen practical training, expand cooperation with industry partners and upgrade the department’s material and technical facilities.

These initiatives aim to improve the quality of education and enhance the professional training of future specialists.
