On October 14, 2026, a working meeting was held between Assel Abdyldayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Relations at the International Engineering and Technology University (METU), and Kairat Zhumanov, Head of the Education Department of Almaty Region.

The meeting focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation in education, develop joint initiatives, and enhance collaboration between the university and the regional education system.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of building long-term partnerships, sharing expertise, and expanding opportunities to prepare qualified professionals whose skills meet the evolving needs of the labour market.

Both parties expressed their commitment to further cooperation and agreed to prepare and subsequently sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.

This agreement will provide a foundation for stronger institutional ties and future joint initiatives in education.
