On 8 October 2026, Aitkulova Kuralay
Ongarovna, a lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences,
Humanities and World Languages at METU University and the group’s curator, held
a roundtable discussion entitled “Family as a National Value” with
students from group Тур-26-1.3к. The meeting aimed to deepen students’
understanding of family values and encourage respect for parents and care for
loved ones. Its central themes included upbringing within the family, mutual
respect, trust and continuity between generations. The roundtable focused on
the family’s role in shaping individuals, preserving national traditions and
passing them on to future generations. Topics included responsibility towards
family members, respect for older people, care for younger family members, and
the importance of understanding and support in everyday relationships. The
educational value of the meeting lay in connecting family values with practical
actions. Showing consideration for loved ones, appreciating parents’ efforts
and fulfilling personal responsibilities are meaningful ways to put these
values into practice.
The event formed part of the department’s
student support and mentoring activities aimed at fostering ethical awareness
and personal development. Such meetings encourage students to connect the
values learned within their families with respectful conduct and civic
responsibility in the wider community.
